Funk Night Jam Participant Release
Event: Thursday, October 22, 2026, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Location: Tones Studios, 1326 Winton Road N., Rochester, NY 14609
Please read and sign before participating. Each jam participant must complete a separate release.
1. Recording Permission and Event Scope. I authorize Tones Studios, LLC ("Tones") and those acting on its behalf to photograph, film, livestream, and make audio and audiovisual recordings of my participation in Funk Night on October 22, 2026, including soundcheck and the open jam. This includes my name, image, likeness, voice, musical performance, statements, and other participation (the "Recordings"). This release covers only this Event, including later uses of its Recordings. It does not apply to future events or ordinary client recording sessions.
2. Ownership of Recordings. As between Tones and me, Tones exclusively owns the Recordings. To the extent applicable, my contribution to a Recording is a "work made for hire" for Tones. I irrevocably assign to Tones any right, title, or interest I have or later acquire in a Recording or my recorded performance embodied in it, including all copyrights and other proprietary rights, throughout the world for their full duration. If a right cannot be assigned, I grant Tones an exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to exercise it as authorized here. This does not transfer ownership of an underlying composition, lyrics, or other work.
3. Authorized Uses and Publicity. I authorize Tones to reproduce, edit, mix, master, synchronize, excerpt, adapt, publish, display, perform, transmit, broadcast, distribute, promote, advertise, license, monetize, and otherwise use the Recordings, in whole or in part, in any current or future media or format. Uses may include livestreams, a saved YouTube archive, promotional clips, websites and social media, music and audio streaming, advertising, other productions, television, and film. Tones may use my name, stage name, image, likeness, voice, and supplied biographical information to identify, promote, advertise, distribute, and monetize the Recordings and Tones Studios events, programs, services, and productions.
4. Editing Approval and Credit. Tones may edit and adapt the Recordings, add titles, graphics, captions, translations, logos, or other materials, combine my performance with other content, and format it for different uses. I waive inspection or approval of the Recordings, finished products, and authorized edits or uses. Tones has no obligation to identify or credit me and will not knowingly use my name, image, likeness, voice, or performance in a false, defamatory, or intentionally misleading manner. This release does not authorize a synthetic or digital replica realistically making me appear to say, sing, play, or do something I did not actually say, sing, play, or do without my separate written consent. Routine editing, mixing, mastering, pitch correction, noise reduction, visual effects, captions, translations, and formatting remain permitted.
5. Consideration and Compensation. In consideration of the opportunity to participate in the Event, I grant the permissions, assignments, and release in this document. My participation is voluntary and unpaid. No compensation, royalties, residuals, revenue participation, fees, or other payment is due to me as a participant or performer for Tones' authorized recording, ownership, editing, use, publication, distribution, licensing, or monetization of the Recordings. This does not assign or waive my separately retained ownership or royalty entitlements in underlying compositions, including applicable songwriter or publisher performance royalties.
6. Songs and Other Underlying Material. This release does not itself grant licenses in compositions, lyrics, backing tracks, samples, or other underlying copyrighted material, including material I own or control. Required composition licenses and other content clearances, including for original music created during the jam, must be addressed separately in writing. Owning a Recording does not establish ownership of the music embodied in it. I will follow the host's instructions about which music may be performed and recorded.
7. Duration and Removal Requests. The rights granted in the Recordings are perpetual, irrevocable, and worldwide. Tones may use them indefinitely but has no obligation to record me or use, publish, distribute, or retain any Recording. Tones may consider my reasonable request to remove content featuring me from platforms it controls, but is not obligated to remove, discontinue, recall, or destroy content used in accordance with this release. Tones may also be unable to remove copies shared, reposted, distributed, archived, licensed, or otherwise made available by third parties.
8. Release of Claims and Agreement Terms. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Tones and its owners, affiliates, employees, contractors, representatives, agents, successors, licensees, and assigns from claims arising from the authorized recording, ownership, editing, publication, distribution, promotion, monetization, or other use of my name, image, likeness, voice, and performance in accordance with this release. I will not seek to enjoin or otherwise restrain a use specifically authorized here. New York law governs. Changes must be in writing signed by Tones and me. Electronic signatures and signed PDF copies are acceptable.

I have read and understand this release, sign voluntarily, and understand that Tones intends to rely on the permissions and rights I grant. If I am under 18, my parent or legal guardian must also complete the consent below.

I am the parent or legal guardian of the participant identified below. I have read and understand this release, consent to the minor's participation in the October 22, 2026 Event, and agree on behalf of myself and the minor to the recording, ownership, and uses of the minor's name, image, likeness, voice, performance, and other participation authorized here. This consent is part of this release.
